Personal Safety Training focuses on education by providing information and strategies that enhance the ability to recognize & prevent, avoid, de-escalate, and/or exit from potential or real conflict or violent situations. It does NOT involve physical skills training. Self-Defense Physical Skills Training provides the experience of learning, practicing, and improving realistic, practical, and effective physical skills that may be necessary for a combative situation. Physical self-defense training: • Does NOT make a participant invincible, but • Helps each person discover his or her current and potential abilities & capabilities for handling violent situations.
