WHAT IS SAFER & STRONGER!?
SAFER & STRONGER! is a personal training program for individuals, families, or groups who want to improve their fitness levels and learn personal safety/self-defense! It is a unique program that teaches and combines physical conditioning activities with realistic, practical, and effective personal safety awareness and self-defense physical skills.
WHY SAFER & STRONGER!?
Tim Rochford, the SAFER & STRONGER! program creator, disagrees with claims that you can “learn to protect yourself!” in a kickboxing fitness class. Executing self-defense techniques in real, high stress situations is much different than performing these skills in the safe environment of a fitness class! Many extremely important components of a comprehensive, practical, and realistic self-defense training program are missing from kickboxing fitness classes, including:
- Awareness training
- Evasion movement
- Striking technique application
- Loosening/Escape techniques (application to various grabs and holds)
- Recognition & Avoidance and Effective Communication
- Real practice against simulated attacks!
Rochford states, “you cannot learn self-defense in a fitness class, but you can get fit while learning practical, realistic and effective self-defense” – the reason SAFER & STRONGER! was created!
SAFER & STRONGER! will NOT make a participant invincible!
